I weighed Flopper today and he is 10.8 lbs! He will be five months old on Nov. 1, which is right in the middle of teenagerhood. Rabbits are full grown around eight months, so he is well on his way to a nice-sized bunny!
This week I've placed Flopper's cage next to Sam and Rosie. At first Sam got very upset and chased Rosie around until she hid in her box. He wouldn't let her anywhere near Flopper. Flopper just sniffed Sam through the cage bars. Today, everyone was very calm. Sam allowed Rosie to move freely, and Flopper just, well, flopped. Perhaps next week a formal meeting will be arranged.
Sam has been extraordinarily good about getting his shots! He has allowed me to pick him up without fighting. He doesn't like being wrapped like a burrito in the towel, and angrily chews on the towel. He doesn't seem to be in any pain when I give him the shot in the scruff of his neck. He doesn't even blink. The best part, and a real answer to prayer, is that later in the evening Sam still socializes with me! Usually he keeps his distance from me whenever I've had to pick him up for something. I was sure he would hate me for giving him shots, but he has been very snuggly, wanting lots of strokes. Thank you, Lord, for hearing my prayer about my bunny!
